FEATURE STORY – Pet Pampering
Just in time for the dog days of summer, a new pet dental spa called Healthy Smiles has launched in South Florida and it’s holistic. Pets are greeted by aroma and sound therapy featuring relaxing scents and sounds (CBD relaxation also available) before a five-step process is used to safely deep clean their teeth without anesthesia. Pet parents even receive “before & after” photos to document their pet’s smile makeover while a well-curated retail boutique and barkery” in the lobby showcases a variety of organic pet dental products and treats. Click here to be directed to their website. *Discounted Price using the code WONDER-PAWS is valid for services at the Plantation dental spa.

PUP LOVER WANTED!

River.jpg

Rivers in nature know there is no hurry, we will get there some day. Today is that day for River, a two-year-old handsome and fully vetted shepherd mix rescued from the Virgin Islands, who has been waiting patiently for his forever family since September of 2020. He is shy around new people but gets along great with other dogs and is very playful. River just needs time to adapt to new environments, get adjusted and feel safe. Since walks make him uncomfortable, River would do best in a home with another dog and a backyard.

River’s adoption fee is $150.

SECOND CHANCES: My Memoir of Milton
Milton2.jpg
You may recognize Milton as a super model for Chewy.com as he is featured in all their company ads. But life almost didn’t happen for Milton. Below, Kim McBride explains why.
“I agreed to foster this five-week-old, severely malnourished baby who weighed a mere 8 ounces for one night only. It’s been a year and I couldn’t imagine my life without him! I held my breath for the first week as I approached his crate, praying he’d be looking back at me with those huge eyes that were too big for his tiny face. He couldn’t walk or eat on his own. Milton patiently waited for a much-needed surgery to correct a malformation caused by his siblings suckling on each other due to starvation and because they had been orphaned since they were just a few days old. Milton also had a deformity in his hip. Fast forward one year later and Milton is the happiest, healthiest kitty. His best friend is a Doberman Pitbull Mix that he loves to cuddle with. I truly wish all kittens born on the street were as lucky as Milton but unfortunately that’s not the case. Fostering Milton saved his life and I feel so lucky to call him mine.
